Grays on Main

Privacy policy.

This site is a restaurant and a music room telling you what's on and how to get a table. It collects very little, and this page says exactly what.

In short

  • We don't sell your information, and we don't run ads.
  • The only things you give us are what you type into a form: a message, a private-event inquiry, or an email address for the newsletter.
  • Google Analytics counts visits so we know which pages people read.
  • Reservations, the show calendar, and the performer sign-up are run by outside companies with their own policies.
  • Ask us anything about your data at contact@graysonmain.com.

Who we are

This website, graysonmain.com, belongs to Grays on Main, the restaurant and music room at 332 Main Street, Franklin, Tennessee 37064. When this page says “we,” it means Grays on Main. When it says “the site,” it means every page at graysonmain.com.

What we collect

What you give us

The site has three forms of its own. The Contact form asks for your name, your email address, and a message, with a phone number optional. The Private Events inquiry asks for the same plus the details of the event you have in mind. The newsletter sign-up asks for an email address only. Nothing on the site asks you to make an account, and there is nothing to log in to.

What the site collects on its own

Like nearly every website, this one uses an analytics service (Google Analytics) that records which pages are viewed, roughly where a visitor is (city level), what kind of device and browser they use, which site sent them here, and which links they click. It uses cookies to tell one visit from another. It does not know your name.

The company that hosts the site (Microsoft Azure) keeps standard server logs, which include the internet address (IP address) your device uses, the pages requested, and when. We use those only to keep the site running and to look into problems.

When you book a table, buy a ticket, or apply to perform, you are dealing with an outside company. What they collect is described under Outside services.

How we use it

We use what we collect for four things, and only these:

  • To answer you. A form note is read by the person it concerns and replied to by email or phone.
  • To send the newsletter, if you signed up for it. Every message tells you how to stop, and one reply is enough.
  • To understand the site. Analytics tells us which pages help people and which don't, and whether the booking link, the calendar, and the forms are getting used.
  • To keep the site working and safe, and to meet a legal obligation if one ever arises.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics 4 sets a small number of cookies (their names begin with _ga) that last up to two years and let it count returning visitors. Google Analytics does not store full IP addresses. Google explains how it handles this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

You can opt out. The Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on stops the measurement everywhere; blocking or clearing cookies in your browser works too, and the site reads the same without them. Analytics is only loaded on graysonmain.com itself, so the numbers we see are visitors, not us working on the site.

Outside services

Parts of the site are supplied by other companies. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job, and each has its own privacy policy that applies once you are using its service.

Google Analytics
Counts visits, as described above. Provided by Google LLC.
Reservations
“Book a Table” opens Resy in a new tab. Your booking details go to Resy under Resy's privacy policy; we receive what is needed to seat you.
The show calendar, tickets, and performer sign-up
Show listings, the calendar, ticket links, and the form performers use to apply are provided by Bridge Live. The listings load from Bridge's servers, so Bridge sees the same kind of request a page view sends. Anything you enter in the performer form or a ticket purchase is handled by Bridge under Bridge's privacy policy.
The map
The map on the Contact page draws its tiles from CARTO, using OpenStreetMap data, when the page loads; CARTO sees the same kind of request a page view sends. Directions links open Google Maps or Apple Maps on your device, under those services' own terms.
Form delivery
Notes from the forms, including newsletter sign-ups, are delivered to our inbox through a service operated by Convergent Software, the studio that built this site, which uses an email-delivery provider to send them. They carry the message and nothing else, and are not used for any other purpose. If that service is unavailable, the form opens a draft in your own email program instead, and the note travels as ordinary email.
Hosting
The site is served from Microsoft Azure, which keeps the server logs described above.
Social links
Links to Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and the rest are plain links. Nothing from those services runs on this site, and they learn nothing about you until you click through.

Sharing

We never sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only with the services above, to the extent they need it to work; with a lawyer, accountant, or successor if the business is ever sold or reorganised, under the same promises; and with the authorities when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect someone's safety.

How long we keep it

  • Form notes stay in our inbox until the matter is settled, then are deleted in the ordinary course of tidying up, generally within a year.
  • Newsletter addresses stay on the list until you ask to come off it.
  • Google Analytics keeps visitor-level data for fourteen months, the shortest setting it offers, then aggregates it.
  • Hosting logs are kept by Microsoft for a short, fixed period and are not exported by us.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS, so what travels between your browser and it is encrypted. Form notes travel encrypted to our inbox. The site itself stores nothing about you: it has no database of visitors. No method of transmission is perfect, so please don't put anything in a form that you would not put in an email, such as card numbers.

Children

The site is for a general audience and does not knowingly collect information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has sent us something through a form, write to us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email contact@graysonmain.com and we will answer within thirty days. We will do this for anyone who asks, whatever state or country they live in; where a law gives you more specific rights, those apply too. We will not treat you differently for asking.

To stop analytics, use the opt-out add-on or your browser's cookie controls described under Cookies and analytics. To stop the newsletter, reply to any issue and say so.

Changes

If we change how the site handles information, we will change this page and update the date at the top. If a change matters, such as a new service that collects more, we will say so plainly here.
